We are a small friendly Society, not a Bank, and when you take out a Mortgage or make a deposit then you become a member of the Society and share in the benefits accordingly.

The Society's 2011 Prospectus was registered on the 26 July 2011 and a copy is available either at the Society's office or can be viewed on the Companies Office website at www.companies.govt.nz under search other registers.

The Napier Building Society is not required to obtain a credit rating as it operaties under the exemption contained in the Deposit Takers (Credit Ratings Minimum Threshold) Exemption Notice 2009. The creditworthiness of the Napier Building Society is therefore not rated by an approved rating agency undert the above Act. The Exemption Notice applies to the Napier Building Society because it has liabilities less than $20 million and the Directors consider that it would be unduly onerous and burdensome for Napier Building Society to comply with the requirments to have a credit rating.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with the service you have received from us you should contact us. We have an internal complaints process and undertake to investigate your concerns promptly and fairly. You may contact us to make a complaint by telephone, by email or in writing.

We are a member of an independent dispute resolution scheme operated by Financial Services Complaints Limited (FSCL) and approved by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs. We have 40 days to respond to your complaint. If you are not satisfied by our response, you may refer the matter to FSCL by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. There is no cost to you to use the services of FSCL.

The Society are not Financial Advisors and it is up to the Investors to receive advise from their own advisers independent of the Society and its employees.
